Edible Facial, the Chocolate Face Mask
Most of us have a container of that Hershey’s Cocoa Powder hidden in our pantry somewhere.
When making homemade DIY spa treatments or putting together at home skin pampering recipes, it is recommended to use fresh products. Do not think of this as just an excuse to empty out the leftovers in the refrigerator or pantry. If you can’t eat it, it’s not worthy to put it on your skin.
Experimenting with coco facials, this is the easiest and best one I found to have worked for me.
You will need:
1/2 cup powdered cocoa (the darker the better, the darker the chocolate means it has more antioxidants, even more than green tea!)
2 tbsp honey (honey is used to open up the pores)
2 tbsp oatmeal (You can use the plain Quaker Oats in the kitchen. This is used for exfoliation, mild enough to slather on sensitive skin)
2 tsp baking powder (This is a drying agent, but using it in this mix makes the skin feel squeaky clean, gives it a nice glow, and will make the skin feel firm after the treatment.)
Mix well, apply on skin, leave in for about 20 minutes, rinse thoroughly, finish off with your favorite moisturizer.
And always a friendly reminder, safety first, check for food allergies and other health conditions that might deem any of these ingredients bad for your condition or health.
